Spend 22 days travelling the ancient lands of Egypt and Jordan and onto Dubai, experiencing the culture and world famous historical sites of these amazing countries.
Your 22 day Ancient Lands tour begins in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, before heading to the city established by Alexander the Great, Alexandria, situated where the River Nile meets the Mediterranean Sea. You will enjoy a tour of the Kom el Shoqafa Catacombs, the largest known Roman burial site in Egypt and in El Alamein visit the Commonwealth War Cemetery and the Military Museum. Return to Cairo for two incredible days exploring the Pyramids of Giza, the Solar Boat Museum, home to the 5,000 year old funeral boat of King Khufu, plus the famous Sphinx carved from a single limestone block. In Luxor, take morning tea at the Sofitel Old Winter Palace and visit the Luxor Temple.
Your tour continues to the Valley of the Kings, where you will visit the tomb of Tutankhamen before boarding a luxurious Nile cruise boat, your home for the next four nights. This incredible cruise will take you to Edfu, Aswan, Abu Simbel and back to Cairo exploring the highlights of the region, including the Temple of Horus at Edfu, an included flight to see the Great Temple of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari at Abu Simbel and the opportunity to take part in a lively Galabeya party in traditional Egyptian dress at Aswan.
Your tour continues into Jordan with two nights in the capital, Amman, including a visit to the ancient city of Jerash, acknowledged as one of the best-preserved provincial cities of the Roman Empire. Here you will visit the Triple Arch Gate, Hippodrome, Colonnaded Street, Temple of Zeus and the Temple of Artemis. From Amman you will visit the area known as ‘Bethany Beyond The Jordan’ for a tour of the site where Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist, before travelling to the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth and you will have the opportunity to float in its therapeutic waters. Finally, journey to Dubai where you will spend three days exploring the old and new faces of Dubai, including a visit to Al Fahidi Fort and a ride to the top of the tallest town in the world, the Burj Khalifa.

This magnificent ancient city, carved into the sandstone mountains, is the legacy of the Nabataeans, an industrious race who settled in south Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. By the 16th century Petra had become completely lost to the West, and remained so until 1812 when the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt persuaded his guide to take him to the site of the rumoured lost city. The impressive eastern entrance of the city leads down through a brilliantly coloured narrow gorge carved by an ancient waterway.
