Spend 20 incredible days travelling from Paris to Budapest, exploring the battlefields of France and enjoying a luxury river cruise along Europe’s finest waterways.

Your 20 day holiday begins in beautiful Paris, where you will explore the ‘city of love’, including visiting the iconic Eiffel Tower. You will begin your touring of the WWI battlefields of France in Compiègne, where the WWI Armistice Treaty was signed on the morning of November 11, 1918. Next is Péronne and its amazing Historical Museum, where you will be left with a permanent impression of what life was like for the soldiers. You will spend two nights in Amiens where you will travel to the Somme Battlefields, including Villers-Bretonneux and nearby Le Hamel, before visiting the emotive Thiepval Memorial.

Continuing your journey to Belgium, you will stop at Fromelles, the scene of Australia’s worst wartime loss of life on July 19, 1916 where more than 2,000 men were killed. You will visit the VC Corner Cemetery and the moving ‘cobber’ memorial. From here you will travel to the gorgeous medieval World Heritage-listed city of Bruges before continuing on to Brussels. The following morning, you will take a sightseeing tour of Brussels before travelling to Amsterdam to explore its picturesque canals, or take the opportunity to head to Venlo for the once-in-a-decade 2012 Floriade horticultural festival.

From Amsterdam you will board a luxury Scenic ‘Space-Ship’, your home for the next 14 nights as you begin cruising towards Germany. Day 1: Paris
You will be met by your Scenic Tours Representative at Charles de Gaulle airport and transferred* to your hotel.

Day 2: Paris (FB,HD)
Today join our guide to see all the major sights of Paris. SCENIC ENRICH Tonight we journey to the Eiffel Tower and ascend to the second level for unforgettable views. It’s a short walk to our spectacular dinner venue, 58 Tour Eiffel, just one floor below, where we dine overlooking the Paris skyline.
Day 3: Paris - Amiens (FB,D)
This morning we stop at Compiegne, where the WWI armistice treaty was signed on the morning of November 11, 1918. From here we travel to Péronne and the remarkable Historical Museum, where you will be left with an indelible impression of what life was like for the soldiers.

Day 4: Somme Battlefields (FB,D)
Today we visit Villers-Bretonneux, along with the Museum we will also see the school rebuilt with veteran funds. We journey to nearby Le Hamel and the Memorial before seeing the emotive Thiepval Memorial.
Day 5: Brussels (FB,D)
Our first stop for the day is nearby Fromelles, the scene of Australia’s worst loss of life in all wars on July 19, 1916 where over 2,000 men were killed. We visit the VC Corner Cemetery and the moving “cobber” memorial. Visit Hill 60 which features the best observation point in the region. We then visit the gorgeous medieval town of Bruges in Belgium. Have time to explore this UNESCO listed city before continuing on to Brussels. Tonight with new found friends reflect over the past days journey at our farewell dinner.

Day 6: Brussels - Amsterdam (FB,D)
After a morning sightseeing tour of Brussels we travel to Amsterdam to board our luxury Scenic Tours ‘Space-Ship’. On board be warmly welcomed by our dedicated crew. Tonight enjoy a welcome reception with your fellow travellers.

Day 7: Amsterdam (FB,L,D)
Choose from one of the Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE tours: (1) A sightseeing canal cruise; or (2) a bicycle tour; or (3) a visit to the windmills at Zaanse Schans; or (4) A visit to Venlo for the 2012 Floriade (seasonal option, operates from the 5th April 2012 until the 7th October 2012). Back on board, time to relax and enjoy the Captain’s Welcome Dinner.
Day 8: Cologne - Marksburg (FB,L,HD)
Guided Tour of Cologne. Tonight SCENIC ENRICH highlights include a private Medieval banquet in Marksburg Castle. Set high above the banks of the Rhine this 12th Century castle is the only one never to have been destroyed. Step back in time and enjoy a private tour of the castle.
Day 9: Rhine Gorge - Rüdesheim (FB,L,D)
Cruise the spectacular Rhine Gorge to Rüdesheim and visit Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum before taking a cable car to the Niederwald Monument.        
Day 10: European Village Life (FB,L,D)

Day 11: Würzburg (FB,L,D)

Bursting with character and charm enjoy the sights of Bamberg on your Included city tour. Back on-board, join your fellow passengers for the opportunity to experience some of the region’s finest brews including Bamberg’s famous Smoked Beer.
Day 13: Nuremberg (FB,L,D)
Choose from one of the Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE tours: (1) See the infamous WWII sites followed by a self-guided tour of the Documentation Centre; or (2) Learn about Nuremberg’s past before meeting with local students; or (3) A self-guided bicycle tour.
Day 14: Regensburg (FB,L,D)
Regensburg is one of Germany’s finest preserved cities and you’ll appreciate the beauty on an Included guided walking tour.
Day 15: Passau - Linz (FB,L,D)
Your Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE today gives you a choice of three countries (1) A guided tour of Passau; or (2) excursion to Salzburg, or (3) excursion to Cesky Krumlov.
Day 16: Melk - Dürnstein - Vienna (FB,L,D)
This morning your ship docks in the town of Melk where you will discover the magnificent Benedictine Abbey. During your Included visit inside the Abbey you will be treated to a SCENIC ENRICH organ recital, performed by one of the housing Benedictine Monks. Glide through the Wachau Valley onto Dürnstein. Enjoy leisure time to explore one of the most enchanting villages in the region.
