Day 1: Berlin
Welcome to Germany. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your centrally located hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure before meeting up this evening over a welcome drink with your fellow guests and Tour Director.
Three Night Special Stay: Berlin
Day 2: Berlin - Potsdam - Berlin (B,D)
This morning we journey to Potsdam, where our local expert historian shares his knowledge of the town and its history as we visit the Cecilienhof where the Potsdam Treaty was signed in 1945. After free time in Potsdam we return back to Berlin. SCENIC ENRICH We have arranged special entry to explore the renovated parliamentary building that was controversially set on fire in 1933. After our tour, we’ll enjoy coffee and cake whilst under the famous glass dome. This afternoon see the Brandenburg Gate, State Opera House, Alexander Platz, drive ‘Unter den Linden’ and visit the former Checkpoint Charlie. Checkpoint Charlie was once the notorious border crossing between the Soviet and American sectors, and witness to a number of dramatic events during the cold war.
Day 3: Berlin (B)
SCENIC FREE CHOICE (1) visit the Berlin Wall memorial and Hackesche Höfe; take a ride on Berlin’s subway and learn the historic details of this notorious time in German history, such as the Berlin Wall and stories of those who risked their lives for freedom; or (2) take a relaxing cruise on the Spree River where you will view many of Berlin sights and fine architecture from the waterways.
Day 4: Warsaw (B,D)
This morning we are taken to the main train station for our journey to Warsaw aboard our first class rail carriage. Enjoy your time en-route to relax and watch the rural scenery change from the evergreen forests and rolling hills of Germany to the broad agricultural farmland of western Poland. We arrive this evening into Warsaw, Poland’s cultural, entertainment and financial capital.

Day 5: Warsaw (B,D)
Warsaw was largely destroyed in World War II, however the historic centre has been rebuilt and has attained UNESCO World Heritage status. We visit the Jewish Ghetto with a local guide this morning for a striking reminder of the suffering endured in WWII. We will also see the monument to the Ghetto heroes, the Palace of Culture and the Chopin Memorial. SCENIC FREE CHOICE(1) enjoy a guided tour of the Royal Castle; or (2) visit the Warsaw Uprising Museum and learn about Poland’s history. SCENIC ENRICH This evening enjoy an exclusive piano concert of Chopin music in a Manor House, followed by dinner.
Day 6: Vilnius (B,D)
After breakfast depart Warsaw, passing the picturesque spa town of Augustow. Your route will take you into the amazing Mazurian region, which encompasses 4,000 lakes in a pristine setting, where a great deal of the landscape remains virgin forest. Cross the border into Lithuania and continue on to the capital and your base for the next two nights, Vilnius.

Day 7: Vilnius (B)
This morning join your expert local guide for an insightful walking tour around the Old Town with its many famous examples of baroque architecture. You’ll see all the famous landmarks, including the University, the Gates of Dawn with its remarkable chapel and the famous Vilnius Cathedral. In the afternoon visit the beautiful Trakai Island Castle, located only a short drive outside of Vilnius. The castle, which began construction in the 14th century, is sometimes referred to as ‘Little Marienburg’.
Day 8: Riga (B,D)
This morning depart Vilnius and drive north to the extraordinary ‘Hill of Crosses’. This symbol of Christian resistance to the Soviets, features millions of small Crosses which were repeatedly bulldozed during the occupation. Continue on to Riga, the capital of Latvia and the most populous Baltic State, where this afternoon you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through town.

Day 9: Riga - Tallinn (B,D)
Start your day by exploring the old town with your local guide. The Historic Centre of Riga has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city is particularly notable for its extensive Art Nouveau architecture, cosy beer cellars and cafés. On your tour you will see St. Peter’s Church with its 123 metre high tower. This afternoon we continue our journey to Tallinn, passing through Parnu, Estonia’s summer capital, famous for its mud baths and spa resorts.

Day 10: Tallinn (B,D)
SCENIC FREE CHOICE (1) visit the Kadriorg Palace and Park; the area is home to some of Tallinn’s most prestigious residences, including the baroque palace built by Peter the Great for his wife, Catherine I; or (2) enjoy a guided tour of the Old Town famous for its jumble of twisting, cobblestone streets and Gothic spires. Day 11: Tallinn - Helsinki (B,D)
Today relax on board your hydrofoil ride across the Baltic Sea to the trendy Finnish capital, Helsinki. On arrival enjoy a guided sightseeing tour, which will take you to all the major city sights.

Day 12: Helsinki (B)
Located on a beautiful green island just a few kilometres from the heart of Helsinki, your excursion today takes you to the authentic open-air museum of Seurasaari. The museum is a tribute to the traditional Finnish way of life with colourful costumes, entertainment and architecture on display.
Day 13: Helsinki - St. Petersburg (B,D)
This morning board the high-speed train Allegro as you farewell Scandinavia to travel to Russia. On arrival a Scenic Tours representative will personally greet you and arrange your transfer to your ship where you will be warmly invited on board by your dedicated crew.
Day 14: St. Petersburg (B,L,D)
SCENIC FREE CHOICE (1) a guided tour of Catherine’s Block and the fountains in the Lower Garden at Peterhof; or (2) an orientation tour of Peterhof’s Grand Palace, followed by a walk through its magnificent Gardens; or (3) a guided tour of the Palaces’ majestic Fountains, including both the Upper and Lower Gardens at Peterhof. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant followed by a city tour.
Day 15: St. Petersburg (B,L,D)
SCENIC FREE CHOICE (1) enjoy a guided visit to St. Isaac’s Cathedral; or (2) tour the 19th century Yusupov Palace. Following lunch in a local restaurant visit the Hermitage, formerly the Winter Palace and home of the Tsars. Today it houses one of the world’s greatest art collections. Tonight celebrate with your fellow travellers at the Captain’s Welcome Dinner.
Day 16: St. Petersburg (B,L,D)
This morning visit Catherine’s Palace, famous for its grandiose white and gold façade and elaborate gardens. SCENIC ENRICH Enjoy a highlight lunch at the old-world wooden ‘Podvorie’ restaurant. Here you will be offered traditional Russian cuisine with all products and wine home-grown from the restaurant owner’s private summer residence. This afternoon enjoy time at leisure. SCENIC ENRICH Tonight you will be treated to a glass of sparkling wine followed by a private Russian ballet concert at the Palace of Prince Vladimir. The Palace was the last Imperial palace to be built in St. Petersburg.
Day 17: St. Petersburg (B,L,D)
This morning we’ll enjoy a cruise through the city’s canals and glide under some of the city’s 400 bridges. Tonight join your fellow guests on the sun deck as your ship sets sail along the Neva River.
Day 18: Mandrogi (B,L,D)
SCENIC ENRICH It’s all ashore to explore this charming museum village, reconstructed after WWII. You will have the opportunity to try Shashlik, a traditional meal similar to shish kebab.
Day 19: Kizhi Island (B,L,D)
This morning your ship docks at Kizhi Island; the island hosts some of Russia’s most amazing wooden architecture. You’ll visit this open air museum and its precious collection of wooden churches and chapels. You’ll also view the Church of Transfiguration with its 22 timbered onion domes.
Day 20: Goritsy (B,L,D)
Today we visit the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery, built in 1397 and home to an impressive collection of Russian Orthodox icons. As the ship sets sail this afternoon, sample the beverage that has been integral to Russian culture for over 600 years, Vodka.
Day 21: Yaroslavl (B,L,D)
Today enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent city of Yaroslavl; founded in 1010 it is older than Moscow.
Day 22: Uglich (B,L,D)
Take a guided walking tour of historic Uglich, part of the Golden Ring of cities around Moscow.
Day 23: Moscow (B,L,D)
Relax on board as you sail towards Moscow. Arriving after lunch, you’ll set out on a city exploration. We will visit Red Square and enjoy a tour of the most well-known icon in Russia, St. Basil’s Cathedral. SCENIC SUNDOWNERS Enjoy a refreshing cocktail during an evening cruise on the Moskva River, where you can admire Moscow’s fine sights and architecture from the waterways.
Day 24: Moscow (B,L,D)
Start your day by seeing all the major sights of the city on a guided tour. Then, enjoy a ride on Moscow’s Metro– considered one of the best subway systems in the world. After lunch in a local restaurant enjoy free time to explore the bustling city of Moscow on your own or return to the ship. Tonight you’ll attend an internationally renowned Russian Circus.
Day 25: Moscow (B,L,D)
SCENIC ENRICH Visit the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics. Here you will have the opportunity to meet with a real cosmonaut and see the history of space exploration, including original exhibits and models of space technology, history and art. Then, enjoy lunch in the city. SCENIC FREE CHOICE (1) visit the State Tretyakov gallery, a world-famous museum housing a unique collection of Russian art; or (2) visit the Museum of the Armed Forces, where you will have an opportunity to see a vast collection of Russian military memorabilia.
Day 26: Moscow (B,L,D)
Your day starts with a visit to the Kremlin, seat of the former Soviet Union’s intrigue. In the State Armory, you’ll see priceless weaponry, jewels, and ceremonial robes. This evening you’ll witness a thrilling National Russian Show performed by fifty folk dancers (not available on all departures).
Day 27: Moscow - Kiev (B,D)
After breakfast your Scenic Tours Representative will take you to the airport for your fight to the Ukrainian capital city of Kiev.

Day 28: Kiev (B,L)
This morning you’ll enjoy a city tour and see all the major sights. In the afternoon you’ll visit the Monastery of the Caves, an active, functioning monastery.
Day 29: Kiev (B,D)
SCENIC FREE CHOICE (1) visit the Mamayeva Sloboda open-air museum; or (2) visit the Chernobyl Museum, dedicated to the 1986 Chernobyl disaster and its consequences. Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner of traditional Ukrainian cuisine and folk music.
Day 30: Kiev (B)
After breakfast this morning you will be transferred* by your Scenic Tours Representative to Kiev Airport for your onward or homebound flight.
