This 18 day Connoisseur’s Choice tour is an intimate and luxurious journey through Africa where you’ll soak up the very best sights of Kenya, Zambia and South Africa.

This 18 day journey begins in Cape Town, South Africa with a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain for a bird’s eye view of the incredible landscape. You will spend the next day exploring Africa’s most south-westerly point, Cape Peninsula and be truly amazed by the outstanding views across the Cape of Good Hope on board the ‘Flying Dutchman’ funicular train to the summit. You will then join one of the world’s most luxurious trains, ROVOS Rail, for a two-night, 1,600 kilometre journey across the diverse South African countryside, with regular stops at local villages and towns along the way. Your journey on board the ROVOS Rail ends in Johannesburg, where you will depart for Kruger National Park. Spend two nights exploring the Park in open Land Rovers, allowing for unlimited game viewing before travelling to the stunning Blyde River Canyon, one of Africa’s natural treasures and continuing onto Livingstone to witness the breathtaking Victoria Falls in the best way possible, on your included helicopter flight.

Next you will journey through Nairobi, Aberdare National Park and Lake Nakuru before arriving in Masai Mara for a private charter flight above this vast game reserve, which forms part of the Serengeti ecosystem. Masai Mara is also home to the Great Migration, one of the most spectacular seasonal events in the world. You will also enjoy this reserve by land on a game drive in search of Africa’s ‘Big Five’ - Elephants, Lions, Buffalos, Leopards and Black Rhinos.

Day 1: Cape Town, South Africa (L,D)
Welcome to the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town. On arrival you will be met and transferred* to your hotel (flight not included). This afternoon enjoy your Included cable car journey to the top of Table Mountain (weather permitting).The cableway takes just under 10 minutes to reach the summit during which time the floor rotates 360 degrees, ensuring everyone has a view of the city and surrounds. This evening join your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner.
Three Night Special Stay: Cape Town
Day 2: Cape Town (FB,L,D)
Enjoy a full day Included tour discovering the most south-westerly point in Africa, Cape Peninsula. Explore Cape Point Nature Reserve and take an Included ride onboard the ‘Flying Dutchman’ funicular train to the summit for views across the Cape of Good Hope. Enjoy lunch before continuing to Boulders Beach, home to a protected colony of African Penguins.
Day 3: Cape Town (FB)

Day 4: Cape Town - Rovos Rail (FB,L,HD)
Transfer to Cape Town Railway Station and board one of the most luxurious trains in the world, Rovos Rail, your home for the next two nights. Each of the deluxe suites are resplendent with wood panelling and original features dating back to the early 1900’s, yet with all the modern conveniences you would expect. Your magnificent rail journey continues today through the gold rich Highveld and the Great Karoo. There is no better place to enjoy the passing scenery than the observation car located at the rear of the train. This afternoon enjoy an Included city tour of the former diamond town of Kimberley and visit the Mine Museum and the world’s largest man-made excavation, the Big Hole.
Day 6: Rovos Rail - Johannesburg (FB,D)
This morning disembark in Pretoria at Rovos Rail’s private station. CONNOISSEUR’S HIGHLIGHT: This afternoon explore the fascinating history of South Africa’s apartheid regime with a visit to Soweto, a “City within a City”. Discover the connection with early Johannesburg and experience the special ‘township vibe’. Meet the residents during a visit to a traditional home and a local child care centre or school.

Day 7: Johannesburg - Kruger National Park (FB,D)
Your journey continues today to the province of Mpumulanga and Lion Sands Private Game Lodge, situated in a Private Concession within Kruger National Park. Depart late afternoon for an Included evening game drive before enjoying dinner on the deck of your lodge, whilst watching the sun set over the Sabie River and African bushveld.

Day 9: Kruger National Park - Johannesburg (FB)
Today, traverse the world renowned ‘Panorama Route’ and view the stunning Blyde River Canyon, one of Africa’s natural treasures. Included visit to the Bourke’s Luck Potholes and stop at World’s View for breathtaking views of the densely forested mountain range contrasted with the fertile lowveld.

Day 10: Johannesburg - Victoria Falls (FB,HD)
Take your flight to Livingstone (flights not included) and transfer to the luxurious Royal Livingstone Hotel, located just steps from the Zambezi River and the mighty Victoria Falls. Day 12: Victoria Falls - Johannesburg (FB,D)

Day 14: Nairobi - Aberdare National Park (FB,L,D)
Drive north this morning through fertile and hilly mosaics of small farms to Mount Kenya. After lunch enjoy an Included game drive in the salient then check-in to The Ark Lodge. Nestled in Aberdare National Park, in the heart of tropical rainforest, this rustic, tree-top styled game lodge overlooks a waterhole and a salt lick which attracts a host of wildlife.

Day 15: Aberdare National Park - Lake Nakuru (FB,L,D)
Travel through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru. This area is a bird watcher’s paradise with over 450 species living in and around the lake. Most populous are the pink flamingos and from a distance appear to turn the water pink with their sheer numbers.

Day 16: Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara (FB,L,D)
Enjoy an Included early morning game drive then take an Included private charter flight. Take in the spectacular views across this great expanse as you fly to the Masai Mara, which forms part of the Serengeti ecosystem and is the setting for one of the most spectacular seasonal events in the world – the annual wildebeest migration. Day 17: Masai Mara (FB,L,D)
CONNOISSEUR’S HIGHLIGHT: Enjoy your morning and afternoon game drives through this spectacular game reserve. With the largest population of lions in Kenya, the Mara is a perfect place to see these magnificent animals in their natural environment. The Mara is also home to vast herds of zebra and elephants with leopard, cheetah and a recovering population of black rhino. This afternoon Included is a visit to a Maasai village to gain an understanding of a traditional way of life that has been enjoyed in this part of the world for centuries.
Day 18: Masai Mara - Nairobi (HB)
CONNOISSEUR’S HIGHLIGHT: This morning embark on your final game drive before enjoying a traditional bush breakfast. Take an Included flight back to Nairobi with spectacular views over the landscape below.
