Churchill Polar Bears

(6 days, Winnipeg - Winnipeg, 2014)
This 6 day wilderness tour provides a rare opportunity to see the delightful polar bears of Churchill from a secure mobile viewing platform, the tundra buggy.

This 6 day tour of Churchill offers you a rare opportunity to witness the amazing Canadian polar bears in their natural environment. You will explore this remote town in Manitoba, famous as the polar bear capital of the world, discovering the world’s largest bay, Hudson Bay; as well as Cape Merry, Port of Churchill and the Eskimo Museum.

For those travelling in late August and from December to late April, you will witness the incredible Aurora Borealis, known as the Northern Lights. You will also view polar bears and other arctic marine life such as snow ptarmigan, arctic hares and maybe even a gyrfalcon in their natural environment on board your purpose built tundra buggy.

A rare opportunity awaits for you to capture these gorgeously immense creatures as Polar Bears migrate annually to Churchill in search of food. Tours operate for a limited time each year to witness this unique migration. Visitor numbers each year are controlled by the authorities in order to protect the bears.

This extraordinary opportunity can be booked as an independent package or in conjunction with other Scenic Tours itineraries.
