This 18 day tour includes three nights soaking up Floriade 2012 in The Netherlands before enjoying a 15 day cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest.

Your 18 day Flourishing Floriade and Jewels of Europe Tour begins in the vibrant Dutch capital, Amsterdam, where you will travel down to Venlo, home of the 2012 Floriade World Horticultural Expo. This once-in-a-decade event promises an incredible array of colours from the multitude of exquisite blooms on display. Each exhibition is designed with creative innovation ensuring you will witness some of the world’s most exceptional flowers, plants, trees, fruit and vegetables. You will also have the chance to taste a number of delicacies from both local and international cuisine.

From Venlo you will return to Amsterdam to board a Scenic ‘Space-Ship’, which will be your home for the next 15 days. During your stay in Amsterdam you can explore the city’s picturesque canals or take a guided bicycle tour through the fascinating city streets. Cruising through Germany along the Rhine and Main rivers, you will visit the historic city of Cologne and its beautiful Old Town and dine at a private medieval banquet in Marksburg Castle. You will also witness the beautiful Rhine Gorge and stunning castles atop vine-covered slopes. Your cruise continues through Würzburg, Bamberg, Nuremberg and Regensburg allowing you ample time to stop and experience the character and charm of these beautiful German cities. Your next destination is the beautiful Austria, including its capital, Vienna for a memorable private Viennese evening concert at the majestic Palais Liechtenstein, featuring the music of Strauss and Mozart. Finally you will make your way into Budapest on the heart of the Danube, and discover the highlights of both sides of the Hungarian capital during a guided tour of both Buda and Pest.

Day 1: Amsterdam - Venlo
You will be met by your Scenic Tours Representative in Amsterdam for your scheduled transfer* to Venlo – Home of the 2012 Floriade World Horticultural Expo. (Flights to arrive before midday).

Day 2: Venlo - Floriade (FB)
Be amazed by the array of colours and the multitude of displays at this once in every 10 year event. Each exhibition has been designed with creative innovation to entice every sense as you explore some of the world’s most exquisite and exceptional flowers, plants, trees and fruit and vegetables. As you wander the five themed areas, savour a number of delicious delicacies from both local and International cuisine. 
Day 3: Venlo - Floriade (FB)
Each day features a cultural programme of music, dance, literature and theatre from all over the world. Lose yourself in the countless, exciting themes as you experience first-hand the influence horticulture has on the quality of our daily lives.
Day 4: Venlo - Amsterdam (FB,D)
After breakfast, coach to the picturesque city of Amsterdam to join your luxury Scenic ‘Space-Ship’. Tonight enjoy a welcome reception on-board with your fellow travellers.
Next Fourteen Nights: Cruising
Day 5: Amsterdam (FB,L,D)
Today choose from one of the Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE tours: (1) A sightseeing canal cruise; or (2) A bicycle tour; or (3) A visit to the windmills at Zaanse Schans; Back on board, time to relax and enjoy the Captain’s Welcome Dinner.
Day 6: Cologne - Marksburg (FB,L,HD)
This morning explore Cologne on your Included guided tour. Tonight SCENIC ENRICH highlights include a private Medieval banquet in Marksburg Castle. Set high above the banks of the Rhine this 12th Century castle is the only one never to have been destroyed. Step back in time and enjoy a private tour of the castle.
Day 7: Rhine Gorge - Rüdesheim (FB,L,D)
Cruise the spectacular Rhine Gorge with its stunning vistas before boarding the ‘Winzerexpress’ mini train in Rüdesheim for an Included guided visit of Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum.
Day 8: European Village Life (FB,L,D)
SCENIC ENRICH Today you will be taken off the beaten track as an invited guest to experience Village life just for a day- Exclusive to Scenic Tours. Choose from a selection of activities from everyday life like cooking onion pie, or be welcomed into private castles and family wineries. Relax on board this morning as you sail towards Bamberg. Bursting with character and charm enjoy the sights of the city on your Included tour.
Day 11: Nuremberg (FB,L,D)

On your Included guided walking tour, see the Old Chapel and the world’s oldest sausage kitchen.
Day 13: Passau - Linz (FB,L,D)

Day 14: Melk - Dürnstein - Vienna (FB,L,D)
This morning visit the magnificent Benedictine Abbey on your Included guided tour of Melk. Inside the Abbey an organ recital has been arranged. Spend the rest of the day exploring the quaint little town of Dürnstein. This evening we arrive in Vienna.
Day 15: Vienna (FB,L,D)
To get acquainted with this beautiful city, enjoy an Included tour of the famous sights including the Ringstrasse and the Hofburg Palace. Tonight SCENIC ENRICH highlights include a glass of Austrian ‘Sekt’ at the majestic Palais Liechtenstein followed by an enchanting private Viennese evening concert featuring the music of Strauss and Mozart.
Day 16: Vienna (FB,L,D)
To get acquainted with this beautiful city, enjoy an Included tour of the famous sights including the Ringstrasse and the Hofburg Palace. Today offers three Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE options to choose from: (1) A fabulous guided tour of Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer palace of the Hapsburgs; or (2) Take a guided excursion to the Slovakian capital of Bratislava; or (3) Witness the world famous Lipizzaner Stallions refining and perfecting their skills during their routine morning exercise program or a guided tour of the oldest Classical Dressage riding school in the world (not available all departure dates).
Day 17: Budapest (FB,L,D)
Discover the highlights of both Buda and Pest during your Included guided city tour. Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE tours: (1) Relax in the Thermal Baths and Spa; or (2) Explore the lime stone caves under the Castle Labyrinth; or (3) Explore the history of classical music in Hungary.
Day 18: Budapest (FB)

After breakfast this morning it is time to farewell your fellow passengers and disembark the cruise. Your Scenic Tours Representative will transfer* you to the airport.
