This 23 Day Grand African Discovery tour explores some of Africa’s most incredible national parks as you travel from Cape Town to Johannesburg through Tanzania and Kenya.

Your tour begins in the spectacular coastal city of Cape Town where you will enjoy a city tour, followed by a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain. Whilst in Cape Town, you will also enter the Stunning Cape Point Nature Reserve and travel to the top of Cape Point to witness some breathtaking views. You will then journey to Thornybush Game Reserve, which comprises 10,000 hectares of pristine African bushveld and is home to a variety of wildlife including the ‘Big Five’ - Elephants, Lions, Buffalos, Leopards and Black Rhinos. You will enjoy a guided game drive through the Reserve before travelling the beautiful Panorama Route to Johannesburg.

Next you will head to Livingstone and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls before spending a day game driving along the Chobe River in the Chobe National Park. Your tour continues to Tanzania, where you will visit Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater (‘Africa’s Eden’), dubbed the Eighth Natural Wonder of the World. Next, travel to Kenya visiting Amboseli National Park and Mount Kilimanjaro before continuing this African adventure through Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve where it’s possible to witness the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth, the Great Migration (seasonal). Finally, your tour concludes back in Johannesburg with an exclusive farewell bush breakfast and game drive.

Day 1: Cape Town
Welcome to the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town (flight not included). On arrival at Cape Town airport you will be met and transferred* to your luxury hotel, ideally located along the Atlantic Ocean and within easy access to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. The remainder of the day and evening are at leisure. Tonight, meet your Tour Director for a welcome briefing.
Three Night Stay: Cape Town
Day 2: Cape Town (FB,D)
This morning enjoy your Included city tour of Cape Town. Take a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain for outstanding views. The floor of the cable car rotates 360 degrees ensuring that everyone gets a view of the beautiful city and surrounds. Included SCENIC FREECHOICE choose from: (1) tour of Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned during the apartheid years; or (2) guided tour of the stunning Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens situated at the foot of Table Mountain; or (3) tour of the Cape Winelands including lunch and wine tasting; or (4) township tour for an insight into the multicultural side of Cape Town. Day 3: Cape Town (FB,L)
Today is your Included discovery of the most south-westerly point in Africa, Cape Peninsula. Enter the stunning Cape Point Nature Reserve and journey to the top of Cape Point for incredible vistas. The point thrusts its jagged edge into the Atlantic Ocean and affords magnificent views over the hills of the peninsula towards the Cape of Good Hope. Enjoy an Included lunch in a local restaurant before continuing to Boulders Beach, home to the protected land-based colony of African penguins.
Day 4: Cape Town - Thornybush Game Reserve (FB,D)
Transfer to the airport for your early morning flight (flight not included) to Johannesburg. Board your coach for your journey to the province of Mpumulanga and the Thornybush Game Reserve, which is 10,000 hectares of pristine African bushveld. Set in the heart of the rolling lowveld and incorporated into the Greater Kruger National Park, the Thornybush Game Reserve is home of the ‘Big Five’ and a variety of other African wildlife species. Enjoy your two night stay here at the exclusive Thornybush Private Game Lodge. Included this evening dine at the lodge whilst enjoying the views of the surrounding African bushveld.

Day 5: Thornybush Game Reserve (BB,L,HD)
Experience an Included early morning game drive through this amazing game reserve, which is predominantly open savannah. Limitless game viewing is possible as your open top Land Rover traverses through this private reserve. After a sumptuous breakfast, join your ranger and tracker on a guided walk for an opportunity to learn more about the flora and fauna of the region and to have a chance to follow tracks in more detail. After some free time to relax and enjoy the facilities at the lodge, board your vehicle for an Included afternoon game drive and then Included SCENIC ENRICH dine under a starlit sky in the bush.
Day 6: Thornybush Game Reserve - Johannesburg (FB)
Travel via the magnificent ‘Panorama Route’, one of the most beautiful and popular travel destinations in South Africa. The stretch known as Blyde River Canyon is one of the natural wonders of Africa. The amazing canyon comes to an end at Bourke’s Luck Potholes. From many well-positioned vantage points you will have a view of the 33 kilometre long gorge. The Potholes are impressive rock formations that were shaped millions of years ago by erosion. The bizarre swirl holes developed when the once rapid river carried masses of sand and debris. Stop at World’s View for breathtaking views before continuing to Johannesburg.

Day 7: Johannesburg - Livingstone (FB,D)
Depart the hotel this morning for your transfer to the airport for your flight (flight not included) to Livingstone, Zambia. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel which is located a short stroll from Victoria Falls, on the banks of the magnificent Zambezi River. This afternoon see the powerful and majestic falls at close range during your Included tour of the Zambian side of one of the seven Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls.

Day 8: Livingstone (FB)
Today enjoy your Included SCENIC ENRICH visit to a local village to gain an appreciation of traditional tribal life. You will also explore the quaint town of Livingstone which is rich in scenery and heritage, and visit the Livingstone Museum. This afternoon explore this historic town further at your own pace or simply relax and enjoy the facilities of your luxury hotel before boarding your vessel for an Included sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Enjoy sundowners as you absorb this stunning setting from a most unique vantage point.
Day 9: Chobe National Park (FB)
Included today is a day trip to Chobe National Park and game drive along the Chobe River. 
Day 10: Livingstone - Johannesburg (FB,D)
Today, an opportunity to take a magnificent helicopter flight over Victoria Falls (own expense). Transfer to the airport for your flight (flight not included) to Johannesburg, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 12: Nairobi - Tarangire National Park (FB,L,D)
Following breakfast leave the bustling city of Nairobi behind and travel to the Namanga border and enter Tanzania, home to interesting wildlife, inspiring landscapes and a rich, diverse culture. Continue your journey to Tarangire National Park, situated between Lake Manyara and the sheer rock walls of the Rift Valley escarpment. The park is home to an amazing variety of birds and animals and its lush green jungle habitat is of stark contrast to other parks in Tanzania.

Day 13: Tarangire Sopa Lodge - Ngorongoro Crater (FB,L,D)
Enjoy an Included early morning game drive through this beautiful and incredibly diverse park, which is well known for its lions, elephants and large troops of baboons. After an Included lunch travel to the world famous, Ngorongoro Crater, often called “Africa’s Eden” and the 8th Natural Wonder of the World. Our lodge is spectacularly located on the rim of the ancient crater, affording breathtaking views. This evening enjoy your Included SCENIC ENRICH traditional dance performance by a local tribe and exclusive talk by an expert naturalist on the local wildlife and native customs.

Day 14: Ngorongoro Crater (FB,L,D)
Don’t miss the chance to rise early this morning and witness a spectacular sunrise over the crater. Following breakfast, enjoy an Included game drive through Ngorongoro Crater, reputed to contain the largest number of predators in Africa, due to the vast numbers of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle.
Day 15: Ngorongoro Crater - Amboseli National Park (FB,L,D)
After breakfast, continue your journey via Arusha and travel north into Kenya to Amboseli National Park, located beneath the tallest freestanding mountain in the world, the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. Late this afternoon, experience an Included game drive through this national reserve with its wide, dry plains and where the horizons stretch into the furthest distance and become one with the sky.

Day 16: Amboseli National Park (FB,L,D)
The snow clad peak of Mount Kilimanjaro soars above you as you enjoy an Included game drive through the savannah and acacia scrub of the Amboseli National Park. Heading deep into the park you will encounter large concentrations of elephants, birdlife such as grey heron, stork and Egyptian goose and other wildlife, which are drawn to this area due to a series of large, lush swamplands. Enjoy your Included SCENIC ENRICH visit to a traditional Maasai village where you will learn first hand about this complex culture. The Maasai culture is a truly independent and proud culture and undoubtedly one of the most famous traditional cultures on earth. Maasai are semi-nomadic farmers and have resisted the urging of governments to adopt a more sedentary lifestyle. The Maasai live in harmony with most wild animals and have an aversion to eating game. Day 17: Amboseli - Aberdare National Park (FB,L,D)
Nairobi’s famous Safari Park is your Included lunch destination today, followed by a drive to Mount Kenya National Park, home to the imposing, extinct volcano, Mount Kenya which dominates the landscape of the Kenyan Highlands. This World Heritage listed national park includes a variety of habitats ranging from higher forest, bamboo, alpine moorlands, glaciers, tarns and glacial moraines. This evening enjoy game viewing from the comfort of your lodge which overlooks a waterhole and salt lick that attracts numerous herds of elephant and buffalo.

Day 18: Aberdare National Park - Lake Nakuru National Park (FB,L,D)
Continue your African journey to Lake Nakuru, set in a picturesque landscape of surrounding woodland and grassland and home to large flocks of pelicans and pink flamingos, and other wildlife. Enjoy your Included SCENIC ENRICH visit to the Nakuru Baby Orphanage Centre, established by an Australian family who have sold their home to care for the local children and the surrounding community. Enjoy lunch with the children for a memorable experience. This afternoon enjoy your Included game drive en route to the Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, which is nestled along the Lion Hill overlooking the spectacular flamingo pink rimmed Lake Nakuru. Day 19: Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara National Reserve (FB,L,D)
This morning continue to Masai Mara National Reserve, where a once in a lifetime experience awaits as you witness the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth – the Great Migration (seasonal). It has been recorded that the Masai Mara attracts 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 bird species, and during the annual migration over 1.5 million wildebeest. This afternoon enjoy an Included game drive through the Masai Mara which is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas.

Day 20: Masai Mara National Reserve (FB,L,D)
Opportunity to take a one hour Hot Air Balloon flight over the Masai Mara (own expense and booked on tour). Enjoy Included morning and afternoon game drives through the Masai Mara which is situated in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grasslands and home to the largest population of lions in Kenya. Vast herds of zebra, impala, antelope, gazelle and giraffe grace the landscape, hippos populate the streams and lakes, and the woodlands and savannah are home to leopard, lion, hyena and cheetah. 
Day 21: Masai Mara (FB,L,D)

Day 22: Masai Mara - Johannesburg (HB)
This morning enjoy your Included SCENIC ENRICH exclusive farewell bush breakfast and game drive before boarding your Included flight back to Nairobi. During the short flight, take in the spectacular views over the landscape below. On arrival in Nairobi connect with your flight (flight not included) to Johannesburg. On arrival in Johannesburg you will be transferred to your hotel.
