Continuing north, arrive at Shaba National Reserve which lies adjacent to Samburu National Reserve. Popularly known as the ‘Samburu Ecosystem’, these reserves sustain a variety of free ranging wildlife species.
Two Night Stay: Shaba National Reserve
Game drives today are in the Samburu National Reserve and/or Buffalo Springs Reserve, with striking backdrops of the Mathews Range. The diverse wildlife that can be found in this area include reticulated giraffe, elephant, the tree climbing gerenuk, gazelle, buffalo and the rare Grevy’s zebra.
Travel towards the equator between snow-capped Mount Kenya and the foothills of the Aberdare Mountains to Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Later, we arrive at the stunning Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club. After lunch, join Maasai tribesman and celebrate with an equator crossing ceremony including a certificate of achievement.

Today enjoy your game drive en route to the Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, which is nestled along the Lion Hill overlooking the spectacular flamingo pink rimmed Lake Nakuru.

Continue to Masai Mara National Reserve, where a once in a lifetime experience awaits as you witness the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth – the Great Migration (seasonal). It has been recorded that the Masai Mara attracts 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 bird species, then during the annual migration over 1.5 million wildebeest. Your game drives traverse the Masai Mara which is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas, the pinnacle being the hazardous Mara River.
