This 12 day tour explores the best of Western Australia and the Northern Territory as you travel from Broome to Darwin including Cable Beach, El Questro and Kakadu.

Your 12 day adventure begins in Broome where you will spend two days exploring the city, including the chance to witness the sunset over magnificent Cable Beach. Your tour continues to Halls Creek where you will enjoy a cruise on the exquisite Geikie Gorge on your way. You will then travel to the Argyle Diamond Mine, the world’s largest single producer of diamonds, before travelling to the acclaimed El Questro Wilderness Park, where you can enjoy a walk to Emma Gorge for a refreshing swim in the waterhole.

From El Questro you will head to Wyndham to stand in awe at the 5 Rivers Lookout, before enjoying a cruise on the Ord River where you will pass beneath immense gorge walls and view peaceful river scenery. Your tour continues into the Northern Territory, where you will visit Katherine Gorge and marvel at the towering red ochre sandstone walls, before continuing to witness the amazing World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park.

Your tour ends in Darwin, where you will spend two days exploring the vibrant northern capital city.

Day 1: Broome (HD)
Welcome to the tropical Coral Coast! Broome is the perfect place to start your holiday with it’s long stretches of white sand beaches and warm tropical waters. Broome has a rich history and now boasts a multicultural population lured here by the promise of finding fortune through pearling. The pearling industry remains a vibrant part of Broome, proudly producing the world’s finest pearls. You will be met on arrival at Broome airport and transferred* to your hotel. This evening meet your Scenic Tours Tour Director and fellow travellers as you enjoy a delicious Included  welcome dinner.

Day 2: Broome (FB)
Today choose from a range of Broome’s highlights. Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE choose from: (1) sunset camel ride on Cable Beach; or (2) learn about the history of pearling at the Pearl Lugger Museum; or (3) a guided tour of the Willie Creek Pearl Farm; or (4) take in the sights of Broome in a unique way with Broome Trike Tours; or (5) a hovercraft tour. Day 3: Broome - Fitzroy Crossing (FB,D)

Depart Broome and visit Derby to see the enormous Boab Prison Tree then make your way into the magnificent Kimberley.

Day 4: Fitzroy Crossing - Halls Creek (FB,D)
Embark on an Included cruise of the exquisite Geikie Gorge with its unusual white banded walls. Keep your eye out for local wildlife including sawfish, stingrays and freshwater crocodiles. Enjoy an Included SCENIC ENRICH visit to Yiyili Aboriginal Community School for a chance to meet the small community of Aboriginal students and view the local artwork (subject to availability). Continue to Halls Creek, the oasis of the Kimberley and a genuine outback town.

Day 5: Halls Creek - El Questro Wilderness Park (FB,L,D)
Depart Halls Creek for the world’s largest single producer of diamonds, the Argyle Diamond Mine, for an Included private guided tour of the open cut mine and lunch. See the exquisite diamonds on display including the rare pink diamond. Admire the striking colours of the massive Carr Boyd Ranges as you travel to the acclaimed El Questro Wilderness Park, a million acre park set in the stunning outback Kimberley landscape.

Day 6: El Questro Wilderness Park (FB,D)
Today there is the opportunity to explore the rugged beauty around El Questro on your Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE choose from: (1) a cruise through Chamberlain Gorge; or (2) a picnic hamper; or (3) bush culture and history tour; or (4) wet season history tour. This afternoon is free to relax in the tranquil resort setting, enjoy a walk in the surrounding area or go for a refreshing swim in the waterhole.
Day 7: El Questro Wilderness Park - Kununurra (FB,D)

Today follow the spectacular Cockburn Range to Wyndham. Stand in awe at the vast expanse of land that sits before you at the 5 Rivers Lookout. Take an Included tour of the enormous Ord River Irrigation Scheme that has transformed the semi-desert cattle country to a luscious, year round agricultural area. Enjoy a highlight of the tour as the spectacular scenery reveals itself on your Included SCENIC ENRICH cruise. Journey down the Ord River to Kununurra where you will pass beneath immense gorge walls and have the opportunity to spot some of the region’s abundant wildlife including crocodiles and birdlife.

Day 8: Kununurra - Katherine (FB,D)
As you leave Western Australia the vast expanse of the Kimberley fully reveals itself with a visit the magnificent Lake Argyle, the largest lake in the southern hemisphere. Travel across the border into the Northern Territory and Arnhem Land.

Day 9: Katherine - Kakadu National Park (FB,D)
Travel to Nitmiluk National Park and enjoy an Included guided cruise through Katherine Gorge as you marvel at the towering red ochre sandstone walls. Then journey to the amazing World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park teaming with life and natural beauty. Join your local indigenous cultural guide for an Included cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong who will provide you with a fascinating insight into the abundant wildlife that inhabits the area and the traditional owners’ mythology.

Day 10: Kakadu - Darwin (FB,D)
Visit Nourlangie Rock for your Included SCENIC ENRICH experience where you will receive an in depth insight into the oldest culture in the world. Marvel at ancient Aboriginal rock art which is at least 50,000 years old while your guide gives you an understanding of the art, history and culture of the local aboriginal life. Gain a deeper understanding into the park at the Bowali Visitors Centre where you stop for lunch before the journey to Darwin.

This morning take the option to view the lush wetlands and stark escarpments from the air with a flight over Kakadu National Park (additional expense).
Day 11: Darwin (FB,HD)
Today you have the opportunity  to get intimate with the abundance of wildlife in the area including crocodiles, or you can choose to relax and enjoy the scenery around Darwin with your Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE choose from: (1) a guided tour to the Territory Wildlife Park; or (2) a cruise on the Adelaide River and see the unique jumping crocodiles; or (3) a lunch cruise on Darwin Harbour; or (4) a guided walking tour of Darwin’s historical and cultural sites; or (5) learn the importance of Australia’s role in WWII with a frontline Australia WWII journey. This evening enjoy a relaxing farewell dinner.
