This 11 day luxury cruise along the majestic Western Australian coastline travels from Broome to Darwin via Montgomery Reef and the King George River
Your 11 day cruise begins in Broome where you will board the MV Orion and set sail along the Western Australian coastline. Your first stop is Nares Point and Crocodile Creek before continuing your cruise to Talbot Bay, where you will experience an exhilarating trip to witness the phenomenon of the Horizontal Waterfalls and Cyclone Bay. Your cruise then continues to Montgomery Reef where you will be taken on board a zodiac into a channel in the reed as water cascades on either side and an uncovered reef appears slowly out of the water. Next you will travel to Raft Point and visit a spectacular outdoor Aboriginal art gallery before heading through Vansittart Bay to King George River and Falls where, on your journey up the river, you will witness some of the world’s most spectacular scenery. From here you will travel to Kununurra where you will board your plane for a spectacular scenic flight over the amazing Bungle Bungle Range. Finally the MV Orion will arrive in Darwin for the end of your cruise.
Begin your tour this morning. Embarkation commences between 3:00pm and 4:00pm where you will board the luxurious MV Orion and set sail on an amazing voyage along the Western Australian coastline.
10 Night Stay: MV Orion
Today you will have the opportunity to do some zodiac explorations around the sandstone finger of Nares Point and have a swim at Crocodile Creek.
Witness the tidal phenomenon of the Horizontal Waterfalls as water cascades through a narrow gap in the coastal cliffs. Afternoon excursion to Cyclone Bay.
As the tide drops Montgomery Reef appears to rise out of the ocean. A zodiac will manoeuvre you close to the reef as water cascades down on either side. Then take a shore excursion at Raft Point and climb up to a spectacular outdoor Aboriginal art gallery.
Visit Prince Frederick Harbour and the Hunter River lined with green rainforest, mangroves and soaring red cliffs some 200 metres high.
After landing on Jar Island, your destination will be an outdoor art gallery of Gwion Gwion Aboriginal art which is possibly the oldest known to man.
Journey up the King George River for some of the world’s most spectacular scenery and a wealth of bird species. View the highest single-drop falls in the whole of the Kimberley.
Visit Wyndham, Kununurra and Lake Argyle then tour the Argyle Diamond mine, the worlds’ primary source of rare pink diamonds. Enjoy an Included flight over the World Heritage-listed Bungle Bungle Range or a cruise on the Ord River to Lake Argyle.
Enjoy a day at sea to reflect on all the wonders you have experienced.
On arrival at Com, Orion will clear customs and immigration giving you an opportunity to go ashore.
