This 13 day tour includes 2 nights in Banff, a 2 day journey on the Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver and a luxury Alaskan cruise to Glacier Bay, Ketchikan and Skagway.

You will begin this 13 day tour in Calgary and transfer to Banff for a two night stay before boarding the Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver via Kamloops, Thompson River and Fraser River Valley on ‘the most spectacular train trip in the world’.

Be the first of the day to explore the rainforest and new Cliffwalk in Vancouver and step on board ms Zuiderdam, your luxurious cruise ship for a seven night Alaskan voyage through North America’s last great wilderness. Keep a look out for wildlife such as orcas, humpback whales and bald eagles as you sail to the capital, Juneau, surrounded by the Gastineau Channel, the Mendenhall Glacier and the Juneau Icefields. Next you will stop at Skagway and the Glacier Bay National Park before arriving in Ketchikan, the salmon capital of the world. You will then journey south back to Vancouver.

Day 1: Calgary - Banff (D)
Board your flight to Calgary and transfer* by scheduled transportation to Banff where you will meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers (please book your flight to arrive no later than 3pm). SCENIC FREE CHOICE Dining choose from a selection of restaurants at your hotel.

Day 2: Banff (B,D)
SCENIC FREE CHOICE (1) heli flightseeing over Three Sisters Peak; or (2) relaxing oar powered Bow River float trip; or (3) golf at the Banff Springs golf course; or (4) guided nature walk with an expert naturalist; or (5) rejuvenate in the mineral pools of the Willow Stream Spa or (6) Canadian wine sampling with a Sommelier. This afternoon is yours to explore the alpine township of Banff. SCENIC ENRICH Rocky Mountain Round Up – exclusive to Scenic. Celebrate this event with fellow travellers as you enjoy authentic cuisine, local entertainment and western hospitality.
Day 3: ‘The Rocky Mountaineer’ - Kamloops (B,L)
Enjoy a 2 day rail experience on ‘The Most Spectacular Train Trip in the World’. Relax in your RedLeaf carriage (Upgrade to GoldLeaf or SilverLeaf available at additional expense).
Overnight Stay: Kamloops Hotel (as assigned by Rocky Mountaineer)
Day 4: ‘The Rocky Mountaineer’ - Vancouver (B,L)
Continue through the Thompson and Fraser Valleys.

Day 5: Vancouver (B,D)
SCENIC ENRICH Be the first to explore the rainforest and highlight Cliffwalk, as the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park opens early – exclusive to Scenic. Later enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vancouver’s highlights including the historical hub of Gastown and the local’s playground Stanley Park. The remainder of the day is yours to explore at your leisure. Perhaps meander through the fashionable shopping district surrounding Robson Street and even watch the sunset over English Bay.
Day 6: Vancouver - Alaskan Cruise (B,D)
This morning transfer to Vancouver’s Pier, Canada Place. Step on board your luxurious cruise ship for a 7 night Alaskan Voyage. Check into your Verandah Stateroom (subject to availability) on Holland America’s ms Noordam and settle in for an unforgettable cruise. Familiarise yourself with the multitude of services, facilities and activities on offer at your convenience and contained all on one lavish vessel.
Day 7: Scenic Cruising (B,L,D)
Sit back, relax and enjoy the ambience as you cruise north. Alaska’s dramatic coastline reveals North America’s last great wilderness. Keep a look out for wildlife such as orcas, humpback whales and bald eagles as you sail by. Tonight, like every other night on board your magnificent ship, enjoy a dinner of mouth watering delights. Evenings on board your cruise ship glitter with choices – catch a musical production starring performers from Broadway productions in the show lounge or visit one of the many lounges featuring live music. For a quiet night perhaps catch the feature movie at the theatre or in the privacy of your own cabin.
Day 8: Juneau, Alaska’s Capital (B,L,D)
Surrounded by the Gastineau Channel, the Mendenhall Glacier and the Juneau Icefields, Alaska’s capital is famed for its scenery and isolation. Juneau is accessible only by air or sea so the best way to arrive is by luxury cruise. Explore the lush Tongass National Forest; or journey above on Mount Robert’s Tramway; or learn the city’s Gold Rush story; or drop into the Red Dog Saloon; or visit the fascinating Alaska State Museum (shore excursions are at own expense).
Day 9: Skagway (B,L,D)
Cruise into Skagway, the gateway to the Klondike and a featured setting of Jack London’s book, ‘Call of the Wild’. Enjoy plenty of free time to go ashore and stroll along the weathered boardwalks admiring the shop front façades, reminiscent of the gold rush era.
Day 10: Glacier Bay (B,L,D)
Early this morning, enter the iceberg strewn waters of Glacier Bay National Park. Marvel at the glacial ice wall carved by nature in this World Heritage listed site. This breathtaking scenery will be brought to life by a National Park Service Ranger as they help you spot wildlife and interpret the glacier activity and surrounding environment. Glacier Bay has more actively calving tidewater glaciers than anywhere else in the world.
Day 11: Ketchikan (B,L,D)
Arrive into picturesque Ketchikan, salmon capital of the world. Stroll along the elevated boardwalk by the historic Creek Street buildings; or take a self guided tour of the town; or experience a bear adventure by float plane (shore excursions are at own expense).
Day 12: Scenic Cruising (B,L,D)
Relish in the bow to stern luxury of your cruise ship as you journey south through the spectacular waterways.
Day 13: Vancouver (B)

Disembark this morning and transfer* to Vancouver Airport with your Scenic representative, to board your homebound flight (please do not book departure flight before 2pm). If your international flight departs after 5pm, take advantage of our hospitality room at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver or enjoy some extra time in town before our Scenic representative will take you to the airport.
