This 18 day tour visits South Africa’s most beautiful garden reserves including Featherbed Nature Reserve as you journey from Cape Town to Johannesburg via Zambia.

Your 18 day tour begins in Cape Town where you will experience an unforgettable cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain for spectacular views. You will also witness the incredible vista of the Cape of Good Hope from the summit of Cape Point. Next, travel to Oudtshoorn, the ‘feather capital of the world’ and home to the famous African ostriches where you will explore the world famous Cango Caves, underground chambers filled with breathtaking limestone formations. Next stop is Knysna, where you will witness the World Heritage-listed Featherbed Nature Reserve, and Storm’s River Mouth in Tsitsikamma National Park.

You will then head to Ghost Mountain for an included cruise on Lake Jozini before continuing onto Tinga Private Game Lodge, a 5,000 hectare private concession within Kruger National Park, which has the highest recorded concentration of leopards in Africa. Next you will fly to Livingstone in Zambia, to tour the Zambian side of one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls. You will also enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Finally you will take a day trip to Chobe National Park for a game drive along the Chobe River, before your tour ends in Johannesburg after a visit to Blyde River Canyon, one of Africa’s natural treasures.

Day 1: Cape Town
Welcome to the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town (flight not included). On arrival at Cape Town airport you will be met by your Scenic Tours representative and transferred* to your hotel. The remainder of the day and evening are at leisure. Tonight, meet your Tour Director for a welcome briefing.
Three Night Stay: Cape Town
Day 2: Cape Town (FB,D)
This morning enjoy your Included city tour of Cape Town. Take a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain for outstanding views (weather permitting). The floor of the cable car rotates 360 degrees ensuring that everyone gets a view of the beautiful city and surrounds. Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE choose from: (1) tour of Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned during the apartheid years; or (2) guided tour of the stunning Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens situated at the foot of Table Mountain; or (3) tour of the beautiful wineland region of Cape Town; or (4) township tour for an insight into the multicultural side of Cape Town. Day 3: Cape Town (FB,L)
Today is your Included discovery of the most south-westerly point in Africa, Cape Peninsula. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Cape of Good Hope from the summit of Cape Point, where the peninsula juts into the sea. Continue exploring the Cape before enjoying an Included lunch in a local restaurant. This afternoon you will visit Boulders Beach, home to the protected land-based colony of African penguins.
Day 4: Cape Town - Oudtshoorn (FB,HD)
Farewell memorable Cape Town and journey along Route 62 via the charming town of Montagu and the ‘Klein Karoo’ to Oudtshoorn, known as the ‘feather capital of the world’ due to its perfect environment for raising ostriches. Included is your tour of the world famous Cango Caves, where the underground chambers are filled with breathtaking limestone formations such as the ‘organ pipes’, ‘Cleopatra’s needle’ and the ‘kneeling camel’ – prepare to be amazed! This evening enjoy an Included traditional ‘Afrikaans’ style dinner which includes ‘ostrich’ specialties.

Day 5: Oudtshoorn - Knysna (FB)
Included this morning is your visit to an ostrich farm to learn about every aspect of these intriguing birds from breeding to rearing. Your journey continues to the resort town of Knysna, where the remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 6: Knysna (FB,HL)
Explore Knysna this morning at leisure before enjoying an Included visit to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, a World Heritage site. A short ferry ride across the lagoon is followed by a trip by Unimog drawn trailer to the top of the reserve. Enjoy the panoramic views at a scenic lookout whilst specialist guides share their knowledge of the local folklore. Once back in the Food Forest, a unique outdoor restaurant is situated under the Milkwood Trees, were you will enjoy an Included spectacular buffet lunch. This afternoon return by ferry to Knysna. Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE choose from: (1) guided tour of Monkeyland, the world’s only free-roaming multi-species primate sanctuary; or (2) visit the spectacular Birds of Eden Sanctuary to discover a vast array of native birdlife.
Day 7: Knysna - Durban (FB,D)
This morning enjoy a visit to Storm’s River Mouth in the Tsitsikamma National Park. Continue to Port Elizabeth this afternoon and board your flight to Durban (flight not included).

Day 8: Durban - Ghost Mountain (FB,D)
This morning travel to Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park, an unspoilt wilderness of rolling hills, subtropical forest, acacia woodland and palm fringed rivers. World renowned for its rhino conservation program, The Hluhluwe and Umfolozi Reserves are the oldest such havens in Africa, being founded in 1895. It was here that the world-acclaimed Operation Rhino was introduced during the 1960’s, successfully capturing and relocating white rhino to sanctuaries within South Africa and abroad. Recently, Hluhluwe-Umfolozi has focused its efforts on saving the endangered black rhino, whose numbers in Africa have dwindled in the past decade. Included SCENIC ENRICH this evening enjoy a mesmerising display of traditional dancing. Later continue to our accommodation situated at the foot of Ghost Mountain in Northern Kwazulu Natal.

Day 9: Ghost Mountain (FB,D)
This morning, enjoy your Included cruise on stunning Lake Jozini, and with luck experience the thrill of seeing wildlife coming to the water’s edge to drink. Continue travelling through the Dolphin Coast region amongst a sea of sugar cane fields and enter the heart of Zululand, which is renowned for its subtropical climate and sandy beaches. Today you will visit a traditional Zulu community in the Lebombo Mountains where you will have the opportunity to gain a unique insight into Zulu culture as it is today. On arrival at the village enjoy your Included SCENIC ENRICH experience as you are welcomed by the village chief and taken on a private tour of the village where you will learn about all facets of traditional Zulu life.
Day 10: Ghost Mountain - Swaziland (FB,D)
This morning relax and enjoy breath taking scenery as your journey continues across the mighty Lusutfu River en route to the tiny Kingdom of Swaziland. Travel through the rolling hills and magnificent valleys of Big Bend before arriving at your hotel, set in the natural tranquillity of the Ezulwini Valley.

Day 11: Swaziland - Kruger National Park (FB,HD)
Your journey of this amazing country continues as you travel to Kruger National Park, South Africa’s largest national park. A real treat awaits as you arrive at Tinga Private Game Lodge, situated in a 5,000 hectare private concession within Kruger National Park. The Sabie River flows through it, and it has the highest recorded concentration of leopards in Africa. Included this afternoon, enjoy a game drive. This evening savour the surrounding African bush land whilst dining at the lodge this evening.

Day 12: Kruger National Park (FB,HD)
Today you will explore this amazing famous National Park as you embark on Included morning and evening game drives. Limitless game viewing is possible as your open Land Rover is able to traverse the entire Kruger National Park without restriction. Between drives, relax in Tinga’s sumptuous surrounds. Included SCENIC ENRICH this evening dine in the bush under a blanket of stars.
Day 13: Kruger National Park - Johannesburg (FB)
Today, journey the world renowned ‘Panorama Route’ and view the stunning Blyde River Canyon, one of Africa’s natural treasures. Included is your visit to Bourke’s Luck Potholes and a stop at World’s View for breathtaking views of the densely forested mountain range contrasted with the fertile lowveld. Arrive in Johannesburg late afternoon and this evening is at leisure.

Day 14: Johannesburg - Livingstone (FB,D)
Depart the hotel this morning for your transfer to the airport to meet your flight (flight not included) to Livingstone, Zambia. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel, set on the banks of the magnificent Zambezi River. This afternoon see the powerful and majestic falls at close range during your Included tour of the Zambian side of one of the seven Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls.

Day 15: Livingstone (FB)
Today enjoy your Included SCENIC ENRICH visit to a local village to gain an appreciation of traditional tribal life. You will also explore the quaint town of Livingstone which is rich in scenery and heritage, and visit the Livingstone Museum. This afternoon explore this historic town further at your own pace or simply relax and enjoy the facilities of your luxury hotel before boarding your vessel for an Included sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Enjoy sundowners as you absorb this stunning setting from a most unique vantage point.
Day 16: Chobe National Park (FB)
Included today is a day trip to Chobe National Park and game drive along the Chobe River.
Day 17: Livingstone - Johannesburg (FB,D)
Transfer to the airport for your flight (flight not included) to Johannesburg, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Today, an opportunity to take a magnificent helicopter flight over Victoria Falls (own expense).

Day 18: Johannesburg (FB)
This morning experience an Included township tour of Soweto. Transfer* to Johannesburg airport for your onward or homebound flight (flight not included).
