This 19 day Switzerland, Rhine & Moselle River Cruise takes you from Zurich to Amsterdam and includes a 15 day cruise on board a Scenic 'Space-Ship'.

Your tour begins in Zurich, where you will discover its incredible architectural contrasts before journeying to the pretty Swiss town of Lucerne, with views of the thunderous Mount Pilatus and Rigi in the background, where you will enjoy a traditional folklore show as you savour a meal of fondue. Continuing your travels over the Brunig Pass and Brienz you will arrive into Interlaken for two nights and then travel through the breathtaking Swiss Alps on board a cable car to the village of Mürren.

In Basel you will board your luxury Scenic ‘Space-Ship’ for your 14 night cruise. Before departing the northernmost part of Switzerland, you will discover the Basel Marktplatz, with its daily fresh food markets; and the striking Rathaus, Basel’s City Hall. The majestic Black Forest is your next stop where you will start the day with a baking demonstration of the famous Black Forest cake and visit the world’s largest cuckoo clock plus Germany’s highest waterfalls. In Strasbourg a taste of France awaits you as you cruise to ‘the crossroads of Europe’ and enjoy a walking tour or visit Alsace for a wine tasting. Next is the university town of Heidelberg before arriving in Rüdesheim where you will board the ‘Winzerexpress’ mini train for a visit to Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum and a cable car to the Niederwald Monument.

Your cruise then takes in the spectacular Rhine Gorge, with its stunning vista of castles perched above the steep vine-covered slopes. Next is Cochem, the medieval gem resting on the banks of the Moselle River. You will also dock in Bernkastel where you will take a coach to one of Germany’s oldest cities, Trier, and stroll through history to sites dating back to the Roman times, such as St. Peter’s Cathedral. Your journey continues to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg where you will wander through its well-preserved Old Town, and then onto The Netherlands for the lively Dutch city of Nijmegen, the country’s oldest.

The array of colours and the multitude of displays at the once-a-decade Floriade 2012 in Venlo showcase some of the world’s most exquisite and exceptional flowers, plants, trees and fruit and vegetables. You will then cruise through Belgium to Antwerp, a compact seaport city buzzing with world class shopping, fashion houses and galleries. You will disembark your Scenic ‘Space-Ship’ in Ghent before heading to the ‘Venice of the North’, Bruges. On your sightseeing tour you will be charmed by this fascinating little city with its pretty canals and intimate cobbled stone streets.

Next stop is Middleburg for an excursion to the Delta Works, an engineering feat consisting of a complex series of dams, purposely built to protect the population on the Delta plain from treacherous floods. In Amsterdam, your final destination, you can visit the wartime House of Anne Frank or take a guided bicycle tour.

Day 1: Zurich
You will be met at Zurich airport by your Scenic Tours Representative before being transferred* to your centrally located hotel. Meet up this evening with your fellow travellers and Tour Director over a welcome drink.

Day 2: Zurich - Lucerne (FB,HD)
Your Included walking tour in Zurich, reveals a contrast between the modern buildings on the Bahnhofstrasse and the imposing Romanesque Cathedral which dominates the old town. Enjoy leisure time on your own before journeying to the pretty Swiss town of Lucerne, located on the lake of the same name and with views of the thunderous Mount Pilatus and Rigi in the background. Tonight enjoy a traditional folklore show as you savour a traditional meal of fondue.

Day 3: Lucerne - Brunig Pass - Interlaken (FB,D)
This morning on your Included tour of the old town, see the numerous fountains, squares and historic buildings on show and cross the medieval Chapel Bridge to see the Lion Monument. Continue your travels over the Brunig Pass, via Brienz to Interlaken. As its name suggests, Interlaken lies between the two lakes, Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the foothills of the alps.

Day 4: Interlaken (FB)
Travel through the breathtaking scenery of the Swiss Alpes onboard a cable car to the village of Mürren. Perhaps enjoy a leisurely hike or visit Piz Gloria.
Day 5: Interlaken - Basel (FB,D)
Today takes you past gorgeous mountain scenery on route to Basel where you will be personally greeted by your dedicated crew onboard your luxury Scenic ‘Space-Ship’. Tonight enjoy a welcome reception with your fellow travellers and Cruise Director.

Day 6: Basel (FB,L,D)
Straddling the Rhine and sitting in the northernmost corner of Switzerland, Basel’s old town remains the heart of the city with its maze of fine streets and squares. Discover on your Included guided tour the Marktplatz, with its daily fresh food markets and the striking Rathaus, Basel’s City Hall. This evening join your Captain in the Crystal Dining Room for a welcome dinner.
Day 7: Black Forest (FB,L,D)
A truly magical experience awaits you today as you journey to the majestic Black Forest for a full day excursion. SCENIC ENRICH Start the day with a baking demonstration of the world famous Black Forest cake, including a tasting and coffee at the open air museum of Vogtsbauernhof in the heart of the Black Forest. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before a visit to the World’s largest Cuckoo clock and Germany’s highest waterfalls.
Day 8: Strasbourg (FB,L,D)
Strasbourg A taste of France awaits you as you cruise to “the crossroads of Europe”, Strasbourg. SCENIC FREE CHOICE offers the following Included tours: (1) A walking tour of Strasbourg to explore the lovely canals and half-timbered houses, including La Petite France; or (2) An excursion to the French Alsace Wine Region, including a cellar tasting in the French countryside of Barr.
Day 9: Heidelberg (FB,L,D)
Choose from one of the following SCENIC FREE CHOICE: (1) A guided tour to the university town of Heidelberg; or (2) Visit a real German home for Kaffeeklatsch, an informal social gathering for “coffee and conversation” where you can gain a real insight in to how the locals live. Afterwards enjoy time to explore Mannheim.
Day 10: Rüdesheim (FB,L,D)
Arrive in Rüdesheim and board the ‘Winzerexpress’ mini train for an Included guided visit of Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. This afternoon cruise through the spectacular Rhine Gorge, with its stunning vistas of castles perched above the steep vine-covered slopes. As you set sail learn about the legend of the Lorelei and fall under the spell of the magical Rhine Valley. 
Day 11: Bernkastel - Luxembourg - Bernkastel (FB,L,D)
Journey today to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Luxembourg is one of three capital cities to house administrative offices for the European Union. Join your guide on an Included walking tour highlighting Luxembourg's well preserved old town. Tonight your ship overnights in Bernkastel.
Day 12: Bernkastel - Trier - Bernkastel (FB,L,D)
This morning your ship docks in Bernkastel where you will coach to one of Germany’s oldest cities, Trier. Stroll through history to sites dating back to the Roman times, such as St. Peter’s Cathedral. After lunch on board your ship, join your local guide as you discover Bernkastel, with its famous medieval market square and reputation for great wine.
Day 13: Cochem (FB,L,D)
A medieval gem resting on the banks of the Moselle river, Cochem will make you feel as if you are stepping directly off the ship and into a fairy tale. On your Included guided tour visit Reichsburg Castle, soaring above the township.
Day 14: Nijmegen (FB,L,D)
Today stop in the lively Dutch city of Nijmegen and take a guided walking tour. Nijmegen is considered to be the oldest city in the Netherlands. Perhaps treat yourself to a spot of shopping or simply explore  the streets at your leisure.             
Day 15: Venlo - Floriade (FB,L,D)
Be amazed by the array of colours and the multitude of displays at this once in every 10 year event – Floriade 2012. Each exhibition has been designed with creative innovation to entice every sense as you explore some of the world’s most exquisite and exceptional flowers, plants, trees, fruit and vegetables. As you wander the 5 themed areas, savour a number of delicious delicacies from both local and International cuisine.
Day 16: Antwerp - Middleburg (FB,L,D)
This morning we cruise into Antwerp, a compact seaport city buzzing with world class shopping in fashion houses and galleries. Our tour takes us to Middleburg for an excursion to the Delta Works, an engineering feat consisting of a complex series of dams, purposely built to protect the population on the Delta plain from treacherous floods. Learn about the Delta project followed by a guided visit through the Storm Surge Barrier.  This afternoon your Included sightseeing tour of Antwerp takes you to heritage listed monuments, city hall and the Cathedral of Our Lady.
Day 17: Ghent - Bruges (FB,L,D)
Disembark your Scenic ‘Space-Ship’ in Ghent. This morning visit “The Venice of the North” Bruges. On your included sightseeing tour, be amazed by this fascinating little city with its pretty canals and intimate cobbled stone streets.
Day 18: Amsterdam (FB,L,D)
This morning choose from the following Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE: (1) A guided tour of Anne Frank House and city tour; or (2) A guided bike tour; or (3) A sightseeing canal cruise.
Day 19: Amsterdam (FB)
After breakfast this morning it is time to farewell your fellow passengers and disembark the cruise. Your Scenic Tours representative will transfer* you to the airport.
