Territory Explorer Tour
Spend 11 days exploring the Northern Territory travelling from Uluru to Darwin, including visits to the incredible Kata Tjuta, Katherine Gorge and Kakadu National Park.
Your 11 day tour of the Northern Territory begins in Uluru with a visit to the 36 rounded domes of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) located in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. You will also experience a unique meal under the stars at the award-winning Sounds of Silence dinner. From Uluru you will travel to Kings Canyon and walk along the canyon ring or stroll along its floor. In Alice Springs you will enjoy a visit to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, stop at the Old Alice Springs Telegraph Station and visit Anzac Hill for a panoramic view of the ‘The Alice’. You will then travel to Tennant Creek and visit the School of Distance Education, the world’s largest classroom for outback children before travelling north to the Devil’s Marbles to view these huge red granite boulders. It is then onto Katherine and Kakadu National Park for a cruise down the Katherine Gorge and a visit to Nourlangie Rock to see ancient Aboriginal rock art. Your tour ends in Darwin, where you will have two days to explore this northern capital, before enjoying a farewell dinner on Darwin’s waterfront.

Day 1: Uluru (Ayers Rock) (HD)
Welcome to the red centre of Australia! Arrive in Uluru and transfer* to your hotel. Uluru is an enchanting and captivating ancient sight that is a treasure to Australia and the traditional Anangu people of the region. Tonight meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers for an Included welcome dinner.
Two Night Stay: Yulara

Upgrade to the luxurious Longitude 131° Wilderness Camp. This will substitute accommodation and tour activities. Must be booked before departure.
Day 2: Uluru (FB,HD)
Today the opportunity exists to explore and learn about this fascinating land with your Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE choose from: (1) an Aboriginal Cultural Tour, sunrise over Uluru, breakfast and an easy walk at the base of Uluru; or (2) Harley Davidson motorcycle ride to the viewing point overlooking Uluru; or (3) a camel ride through the desert; or (4) a trek around the base of Uluru. Must be booked before departure. This afternoon Included is your visit to the second wonder of the day, the awe inspiring rounded domes of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). Tonight is an Included SCENIC ENRICH highlight dinner as you watch the sun set over Uluru and dine under the stars at the award-winning Sounds of Silence dinner.
Day 3: Uluru - Kings Canyon (FB,D)
Travel to Kings Creek Station before continuing to the rugged Watarrka National Park, home of the dramatic Kings Canyon. Soak up the atmosphere at Kings Canyon and take an Included walk along the rim or stroll along the canyon floor to be rewarded with spectacular views of this mighty chasm.

Day 4: Kings Canyon - Alice Springs (FB,HD)
Be rewarded with views of the MacDonnell Ranges as you approach Alice Springs, Australia’s most famous outback town. Enjoy an Included visit to the Royal Flying Doctor Service to learn how this remarkable lifeline for remote areas operates. Included stop at the Old Alice Springs Telegraph Station to learn the history of how the town was created after which we visit Anzac Hill for a panoramic view of ‘The Alice’. Day 5: Alice Springs (FB)
The colourful Alice Springs was established on the promise of riches in the form of rubies and gold. It has developed a rich and colourful heritage for which it is famous for today. Day 6: Alice Springs (FB,D)
Today is free to relax or explore ‘The Alice’ at your own pace. Soak up the local art and culture, uncover the rich history and heritage or relax by the pool in your hotel. Join your fellow travellers for an Included dinner at the hotel.
Day 7: Alice Springs - Tennant Creek (FB,D)
This morning learn about a fascinating facet of life in the remote outback with your Included visit to the School of the Air, the world’s largest classroom for outback children. Continue north to the spectacular sight of the Devil’s Marbles. These huge red granite boulders are a random act of nature scattered over the desolate landscape which the Aborigines believe to be the eggs of the Rainbow Serpent.

Day 8: Tennant Creek - Katherine (FB,HL,D)
Included today you will experience some “true blue” Aussie hospitality at the Daly Waters Pub where we’ll ‘shout’ you a beer (or soft drink) and hearty Aussie feed for lunch! Continue north and visit Mataranka with time for a dip in the thermal pools, fed by water that originates in Papua New Guinea.

Day 9: Katherine - Kakadu National Park (FB,D)
Travel to Nitmiluk National Park and enjoy an Included guided breakfast cruise through Katherine Gorge as you marvel at the towering red ochre sandstone walls. Then journey to the amazing World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park teaming with life and natural beauty. Join your local indigenous cultural guide for an Included cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong, where you will gain a fascinating insight into the abundant wildlife that inhabits the area and the traditional owners’ mythology.

Day 10: Kakadu - Darwin (FB,HD)
Visit Nourlangie Rock for your Included SCENIC ENRICH experience where you will receive an in depth insight into the oldest culture in the world. Marvel at ancient Aboriginal rock art which is at least 50,000 years old while your guide enlightens you on the art, history and culture of the local Aboriginal people. Gain a deeper understanding of the park at the Bowali Visitors Centre where you stop for lunch before the journey to Darwin. Tonight enjoy your Included farewell dinner near Darwin’s waterfront.

This morning take the option to view the lush wetlands and stark escarpments from the air with a flight over KakaduNational Park (additional expense).
Day 11: Darwin (FB)
Today you have the opportunity to get intimate with the abundance of wildlife in the area including crocodiles, or you can choose to relax and enjoy the scenery around Darwin with your Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE choose from: (1) a guided tour to the Territory Wildlife Park; or (2) a cruise on the Adelaide River and see the unique jumping crocodiles; or (3) a lunch cruise on Darwin Harbour; or (4) a guided walking tour of Darwin’s historical and cultural sites; or (5) learn of the importance of Australia’s role in WWII with a frontline Australia WWII journey.
