On this 19 day tour you will witness one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls, experience the vibrancy of Johannesburg and explore the best sights of Kenya.
Your journey begins in South Africa’s largest city, Johannesburg before travelling to Livingstone, Zambia where you will witness one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the spectacular Victoria Falls. You will also enjoy a day trip to Chobe National Park with a game driving expedition along the Chobe River. Next we fly to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi before a trip south to Amboseli National Park, located beneath the tallest freestanding mountain in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro. You will also visit Kenya’s famous Safari Park and take a drive to Mount Kenya National Park, home to the extinct volcano, Mount Kenya, which dominates the landscape of the Kenyan Highlands.
Your next stop is Shaba and Samburu National Reserves where you will take a game drive and be on the lookout for giraffe, elephant, waterbuck, gazelle, buffalo and the rare Grevy’s zebra. Your tour continues to Sweetwaters Game Reserve where you will visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where this highly endangered species can be seen. You will then continue onto Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve where, depending on the time of year you are travelling, you will witness the Great Migration, the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth.

Depart the hotel this morning for your transfer to the airport to meet your flight (flight not included) to Livingstone, Zambia. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel, set on the banks of the magnificent Zambezi River. The snow clad peak of Mount Kilimanjaro soars above you as you enjoy an Included game drive through the savannah and acacia scrub of Amboseli National Park. Heading deep into the park you will encounter large concentrations of elephants, birdlife and other wildlife which are drawn to this area due to a series of large, lush swamplands. This afternoon Included SCENIC ENRICH visit to a traditional Maasai Village where you will learn first hand about this complex culture. Nairobi’s famous Safari Park is your Included lunch destination today, followed by a drive to Mount Kenya National Park, home to the imposing, extinct volcano, Mount Kenya which dominates the landscape of the Kenyan Highlands. This World Heritage listed national park includes a variety of habitats ranging from higher forest, bamboo, alpine moorlands, glaciers, tarns and glacial morains. This evening enjoy Included game viewing from the comfort of your lodge which overlooks a waterhole and salt lick that attracts numerous herds of elephant and buffalo.

This morning rise early for your Included game drive viewing in Samburu National Reserve, with its striking backdrop of the Mathews Range. The gently flowing Uaso Nyiro River, which traverses the reserve, is the lifeblood of the area providing water and shade for the diverse wildlife that can be found in this area including reticulated giraffe, elephant, waterbuck, gazelle, buffalo and the rare Grevy’s zebra. This afternoon enjoy an Included game drive in Shaba National Reserve. This evening witness a private cultural dance performance by a local tribe.

Today, journey across the equator to the unique Sweetwaters Game Reserve. Situated overlooking a waterhole, between snowcapped Mount Kenya and the foothills of the Aberdares Mountains, Sweetwaters Game Reserve is a privately held reserve covering some 24,000 acres. Sweetwaters runs its own tree nursery which supports and sustains the natural community. Support this project on your Included SCENIC ENRICH experience as you plant a tree to help regenerate the deforested landscape. This morning is your Included visit to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where this highly endangered and remarkably intelligent species can be seen. The aim of the project was to set up a safe, secure and permanent refuge colony where orphaned and isolated chimps could be introduced, rehabilitated and taught to fend for themselves in an area as natural as possible. This afternoon enjoy your Included game drive en route to the Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, which is nestled along the Lion Hill overlooking the spectacular flamingo pink rimmed Lake Nakuru. Its location affords panoramic vistas of the Lake and the picturesque Lake Nakuru National Park.

Today we visit Lake Nakuru, set in a picturesque landscape of surrounding woodland and grassland and home to large flocks of pelicans and pink flamingos, and other wildlife. Enjoy your Included SCENIC ENRICH visit to the Nakuru Baby Orphanage Centre, established by an Australian family who have sold their home to care for the local children and the surrounding community. Enjoy lunch with the children for a memorable experience.

Continue to Masai Mara National Reserve, where a once in a lifetime experience awaits as you witness the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth – the Great Migration (seasonal). It has been recorded that the Masai Mara attracts 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 bird species, during the annual migration over 1.5 million wildebeest. This afternoon enjoy an Included game drive through the Masai Mara which is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas.

Enjoy Included morning and afternoon game drives through the Masai Mara which is situated in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grasslands and home to the largest population of lions in Kenya. Vast herds of zebra, impala, antelope, gazelle and giraffe grace the landscape, hippos populate the streams and lakes, and the woodlands and savannah are home to leopard, lion, hyena and cheetah.
